Personal Trainers Personal Trainers will use innovative methods consisting of cardiovascular, resistance and flexibility training. If you are having problems losing that extra couple of pounds, overcoming a plateau or getting back in the swing of things, our trainers can help you. Training, motivation and nutrition are the weapons we use. Our Personal Trainers at Pro Bodies offer one-on-one/group sessions, which allow them to dedicate their full attention to your needs. In this atmosphere, you will find that you can benefit more through their knowledge and guidance helping you to achieve your goals faster, then if you did it yourself. Classes Pro Bodies holds daily group exercise class based around flexibility, strength and endurance. A complete list of classes and time schedule can be found here. Massage Massage therapy is one of the oldest forms of medicinal treatments. The practice consists of stroking, kneading and pressing on areas of the body, in order to stimulate muscles, tendons and ligaments. This treatment can help to relieve pain, relax muscles, improve circulation and develop muscle tone. Many people from all walks of life choose to us massage and massage related therapies to treat everything from athletic strains and pulls to impact associated injuries (vehicle accidents) to workplace repetitive strain injuries (e.g. typing) to common, everyday stress. Although it mainly affects those muscles directly under the skin, massage can also benefit the bodies' organs, and combined with proper stretching, exercise and diet, will help keep the body limber, loose and healthy. Acupressure & Reflexology Acupressure is an ancient healing art developed in Asia over 5000 years ago, that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. Acupressure has many advantages including relieving pain, balancing the body and maintaining good health. The healing touch of acupressure reduces tension, increases circulation and enables the body to relax deeply. Unmanaged stress and chronic tension are recognized health hazards. Regular acupressure sessions release the build up of daily pressures and tensions and keep the body resilient and healthy. Reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China. Reflexology is a complementary therapy, which works on the feet to help heal the whole person not just the prevailing symptoms. Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium. This gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance. Nutrition Counseling Over half of Canadians do not eat properly and roughly 35% are obese. Statistics also shows that 38% women and 44% Canadian men will have cancer sometime in their life. Eating habits and inactive lifestyles are major contributors to the rising rates of cancer, heart disease, diabetes and strokes. Combining a proper diet with regular exercise will help to reduce health risks as well as increase energy levels, raise alertness and improve intellectual levels. A proper diet is not just about staying healthy but is a major factor in any successful training regime. With out the right nutrients fueling your body through those really tough workouts and training sessions, it is nearly impossible for you body to reach its maximum performance levels. At Pro Bodies we will try our best to give you the tools you need to “eat right”. Our Personal Trainers posses a wealth of knowledge on proper eating habits, our lobby is stocked with a variety of supplements and vitamins, and our juice bar can provide you with a boast of nutrients for pre or post work out snacks. Whatever your eating habits may be, we can fine tune your nutrition, which may lead to more success, and that depends on your willingness to change. Result Testing The best way to see results, when training, is to test your body and measure the improvements you have made. Fitness testing can be as simple as stepping on a scale, or as complex as using computers. But these two methods may not always show true results. You may require a body fat, strength or endurance test to see the results of you hard work.
